Inspired by the 'old Dutch masters', in which the incidence of light plays a major role, the everyday subjects of my realistic paintings come to the fore. That's why I usually choose a dark background to emphasize this extra. I like to create a soothing image without frills. The simplicity and the subjects, often objects used in daily life, give the work a contemporary appearance. Glass objects, colorful fruit and rustic bread regularly feature in my work. I think it is important that the composition forms a logical whole and has an attractive appearance. I paint with acrylic paint on linen.
